About ICAR-BIRDS KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRA
Technical address for the well being of Farming community.
Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), under the Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India is in the field of agriculture to execute its responsibility of transfer of technology (extension) through Krishi Vigyan Kendras established throughout India. Belgaum Integrated Rural Development Society (BIRDS), Naganur, Gokak-taluk, Belagavi-district is working in the area of education, social welfare and agriculture in Belagavi district since 1980’s has established a Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) with the funding support of ICAR at Tukkanatti, Gokak-taluk, Belagavi-district in the year 1995. BIRDS KVK has been training farmers, farm women, unemployed rural youth and extension workers working in the village level since the last nine years. ‘Learning by doing’ ‘seeing is believing’ being the principles under which the BIRDS KVK is acting. We give expert information and practical training in the areas of Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Protection, entrepreneurship development, income generating, institution building and on all aspects of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Home Science. BIRDS KVK is aiming to the lighthouse of agriculture to the farming community of the district.
